OUR STORY

From an early age I really loved cooking and selling, my dream was to have my own shop. I experienced going around the barrio walking and carrying kilos of mais (fresh corn) to help my parents as this was their business back then.

When I was in Grade School (Grade 5-6) My teacher often appointed me to cook porridges, spaghetti and sopas in our School canteen to sell it to students during School teatime.

In 2013, I started selling ihaw-ihaw and street foods as a hobby. Setting up a humble store in front of our home in Angat, Bulacan we sell traditional Filipino barbeques and other Filipino street foods.

Almost three years later, people were loving our ihaw-ihaws and some were even asking me if it’s possible for them to book a table for dine-in. That is when me and my partner, Cameron, came up with the idea of opening an actual ihaw-ihaw shop in Maidstone as JOY’S BBQ and GRILL. All made possible with the support of our dear customers.

My  love and passion for food has always been innate, but my skill in building, selling and running the business is the pure result of hard work.

“Dreams really do come true!”
